The fresh and the wild: young
coastal designers The show includes new work by well-known
Vancouver Island furniture makers such as
Michael Moore, Sandra Carr and Joseph Gelinas as well as the striking works of Live Edge Design
by veteran Cowichan woodworkers John Lore and Evan Sadler. From master Salt Spring cabinetmaker,
Illtyd Perkins, comes a classic Morris standing desk, perfect in every detail.
Sculptural furniture by Vancouver’s famed Brent Comber, his inimitable organic
shapes and intriguing constructs made from salvaged and scavenged local woods will be on display as will.
Enrico Konig’s Kurve Design with irresistible tables in fresh deco style in highly figured reddyed tiger maple and other exotic woods.
Also showing will be new work by ingenious pop furniture maker Judson Beaumont of Straight
Line Design who takes furniture to new heights and far beyond it’s usual purview. Furniture of the Absurd!
A special show within the show is a collection of wood wall hangings by Wes
Giesbrecht. Exquisite, meticulously crafted, captivating intricate geometric patterns in all natural woods.
